CASE STUDY
Paula first came across the children’s photography business after the birth of her first daughter. She explains: “There is a Photography for Little People shop in the Metrocentre shopping area in Gateshead. When I first saw the photos in the shop window I thought they looked lovely and so I booked to have some shots taken of my daughter, which were fabulous. In fact, I’ve been back for six or seven more shoots since then!”
When she heard the business was a franchise, she started to consider how a franchise could work for her. "This business allows me to work from home and I am unable to manage my own diary. I can book sessions for when my daughters are at nursery or for Saturday mornings when my husband can look after them. "The best thing of all is that it's my dream job. I have always loved taking snaps, but just as a hobby, not professionally. So now doing this and working with children, but also being able to fit in around being a mum is perfect."
In terms of support, Paula receives a mentor who is available at the end of a phone day or night if she experiences any problems, whether its marketing advice she needs or her camera is jammed. The initial training runs over three days, and all ongoing training is FREE.
